The Name
…yea, in the SHADOW of thy WINGS will I make my refuge… - Psalm 57:1
God had sent us to a little emerald jewel of an island off Canada’s west coast. The house sat atop a 300ft cliff, and we looked over the strait to the second largest city on Vancouver Island. The night view of city lights was spectacular.
We could watch the weather systems rolling in, occasional pods of whales far
below, and marine traffic 24/7—sailboats, barges, log tows with hitch-hiking
sea lions and ferries, big and small. And there was the ridge of mountains,
snow-capped half the year, that provided a stunning backdrop for it all.
A deer trail at the edge of the cliff was in regular use. And birds of prey
sometimes kept our cat hugging the dripline of the house—even though
the Ospreys and Bald Eagles preferred to fish. Ungainly Great Blue Herons
passed our picture windows occasionally. Kingfishers, woodpeckers and
songbirds were our background music.
I loved the tradition of naming properties and asked God what we should
name the peaceful home he’d provided after so many years of turmoil. Immediately, I heard WingShadow. That name traveled with me to the small home at the base of that same cliff after Kevin passed away. There was no question, when I began writing, that it would label my publishing imprint. And now it has arrived in Florida—the Pensacola area—hopefully to stay. (That beautiful photo below is from Pensacola Beach.)

Did you know that the woman with the issue of blood in the Bible, when saying, "If I can just touch the hem of His
garment I shall be healed," was referring to the tassels of Jesus' prayer shawl? Guess what those tassels were also known as. Yes, wings.
But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings... - Malachi 4:2
Lord, help me to remain, always, under your wing.

Meet Kemala
Kemala Tribe circled the world a few times with her ship’s captain husband and their son, before landing on a tiny island off the west coast of Canada – quite a change from back home in Georgia. Raised in Southern Baptist and Methodist persuasions, then adding Pentecostal in-laws into the mix, Kemala determined to believe only God’s word, not Man’s. This decision brought an awakening to scriptural truth.

In 2014, Kemala began typing out a story she couldn't get out of her head, in the hopes it would go away. As she wrote, the characters took on a life of their own. She was surprised that the characters started praying. It was then she realized she was writing a Christian romance and was 90 pages in! She had a novel on her hands. Months and chapters later, Kevin bought her a subscription
to Southern Writers Magazine. Living in Western Canada, she felt her writing wasn't fitting in with many publishers, yet felt right at home among other southerners' stories. Six months later, Kevin was in heaven. But sure enough, in that magazine's huge annual short fiction contest, Kemala's submission was awarded publication--7th of 13 chosen annually from hundreds of entries. It was a bittersweet victory.
After her husband’s death, Kemala's mission was revealed. She turned her writing skills to the questions surrounding divine healing, or lack of it, from the perspective of taking God at His word. God's opinion, after all, is the only one that counts. The stunning truths uncovered gave rise to The Head-Smacker Series, which focuses on divine healing in Book One and will address common assumptions in other subject areas in the following volumes. Kemala practices what she preaches, having ministered dozens of healings and deliverances.
Kemala has written non-fiction ever since, and only recently put a few of her short stories on Amazon. In 2022, God moved Kemala back south, where she and her hound dog Jerry Lee are blogging, working on Book Two in the Head-Smacker Series, and considering a kids' version of How Many Miracles is One Person Allowed?. Check out the Be Positive blog through the navigation bar (top of page) for short revelatory articles.
Just so you know, Kemala is pronounced with the same cadence as Pamela.

The Ministry
Here’s what I learned after the Lord got our attention back
in 1999. God is so much better than most people,
Christians included, can even imagine. My calling is to
reveal God’s true nature and character, for as many people
as possible. Writing books is an efficient and effective way
to do that. Fortunately, God put pleasure in the writing
process in my heart.
How do I reveal God’s immeasurable goodness? One way
is writing about miracles I’ve experienced in my own life.
It can also involve exposing errors in common beliefs and
doctrines that have hung around in the church since the
Dark Ages, because many of them obscure God's good-
ness, mercy and grace. Because of things we've heard
over and over in church, or in seminary, we aren't able to
believe that God is as loving and merciful as the Bible
reveals Him to be. This is how the traditions of men make
the word of God ineffective in our lives (Mark 7:13).
How do I prove what I’m writing? Well, as a general rule, the proof comes first, then the writing begins, but as I write, I often want additional evidence. So I’ve learned to research and do basic Greek and Hebrew word studies. The Bible, because it is God’s Word which is ALWAYS true, is my primary reference, but I use many translations, plus concordances, lexicons, and the occasional map. And I listen to various teachings constantly, which often inspire me to start researching specific topics to bring to you in books and blog posts.
God’s nearly audible instruction to write How Many Miracles is One Person Allowed? "because people need hope now, " has planted a seed in my heart. I want to start a donation fund to send copies at cost into prison libraries, rescue ministries for the trafficked and otherwise abused, women’s shelters, inner-city gang ministries—the sky’s the limit, folks. If you haven’t read this flagship book, please do, then let me know specifically where you think it could spread hope and God’s love in your area or your arena. If God says it was written to give hope, then that’s what it will do. It just has to get to those who need it. Together, let's spread the hope that only comes from knowing our Heavenly Father and His undiluted love.
Do you know anyone with knowledge or experience getting books into the prison library systems? If so, please use the contact form to connect us. Suggestions on other organizations to donate books to are highly welcome, too--anywhere hope is needed. I'll start working on a way for you to donate to this ministery project.
