Be Positive Blog

I don't know what blood type Jesus is, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's Positive!

  • You are positively covered by Jesus' Blood - cleansed, protected, righteous.

  • You can be positive you're standing in God's Will for your life.
  • Be positive about what you believe - certain, unwavering and able to back it up with multiple scriptural proofs.

  • Trusting God assures you can keep a positive outlook regardless of circumstances.

Just Say the Word

Updated: Sep 17, 2020

Seven reasons we are to speak God’s Word aloud:

1. Faith comes by hearing… (Romans 10:17). When you speak it, you hear it. Simple.

2. God says to meditate in the Word day and night (Joshua 1:8). The Hebrew word “hagah” translated ‘meditate’ also means to mutter, murmur or sigh. Those all involve forming a sound. (Another Hebrew word translated as ‘meditate’ means to muse or rehearse in one’s mind -- no sound required.) So God made clear the importance of speaking scripture aloud. The idea that people who talk to themselves are losing it mentally, is an old lie from the enemy to trick us out of the benefits of hearing the scriptures as our Father instructed!

3. Angels hearken to the voice of God’s Word (Psalm 103:20). This means that angels get to work manifesting what the Word says, when you speak (give voice to) the scriptures.

4. Speaking the Word is a surefire way of making your words agree with God’s. This is an essential part of spiritual warfare, and we know that being aggressive toward the enemy causes him to flee (James 4:7).

5. When you hear scripture, you are literally listening to what God is speaking to you -- always a good thing. Never say again that you can’t hear God!

6. Speaking it helps you to receive the revelation contained in each passage. Get still for a moment and hear what God is revealing through the words you just spoke. It may not come right away but if you're sincerely asking, He will reveal it. As you repeat the scripture, even in the days and weeks ahead, you are making progress in renewing your mind -- shifting your mindset to agree with God’s. We are instructed specifically to do this (Romans 12:2).

7. It foils the plan of the enemy against you. Recently, when I thought, "I should say this out loud," my lips clamped shut in protest. The enemy was at work. That is all the proof I need that we should speak the Word, not just think it. If the enemy wants to stop it, then it's something that will bless us.

So SPEAK the Word! And feel free to personalize scripture. It’s for YOU, so substitute your name or “me” and “my” in scripture to help your mind accept that it’s talking to you and about you.

What is your challenge today? In what area are you in lack -- peace, health, finances, relationships, a loved one's circumstances? Find scriptures that prove God's tender care in that area of life, and start speaking them. Great advice for employing scripture:

“To be spoken by mouth three times a day until faith comes, then once

a day to maintain faith. If circumstances grow worse, double the dosage.

There are no harmful side effects.”

— Charles Capps

Join me in developing the habit of speaking God's Word, and then send in your testimonies in October of the change you've seen in your life.
