We're celebrating the end of the 12-Day War, even as tensions remain high. The war between Iran and Israel raised some interesting subjects, though, which still need to be addressed. Why? Because they will, no doubt, come up again.

Pundits and politicians -- specifically, Christian pundits and politicians -- were blowing up social media over one specific positional question. We're in a religious debate, and though it's rather refreshing to hear scripture being discussed on news shows, this debate is another divisive subject. So here we go...
Some not-so-traditional Christians have questioned the relevance of modern-day Israel from a religious perspective. Is it the Israel of the Bible? Is there a valid faith-based reason for us to support Israel at all costs? Thankfully, it looks like we don't need that answer today, but we do need to explore the subject if only as it pertains to our personal belief system. We will likely be required to vote in an election one day, where this is an issue.
The heated Tucker Carlson interview of Senator Ted Cruz sparked the debate, but we would have had to address the matter even without their on-air argument. Reels and Shorts on social media have been pounding us with stringent monologues from these two perspectives:
There's no scriptural reason to support modern Israel -- it is not the Israel of the Bible, it was founded as a political state that no longer has anything to do with religion. They back this up by stating that not everyone there is descended from the 12 tribes of Biblical Israel, and that the land that God gave Israel was forfeit when the people turned against God and were scattered.
We absolutely should support Israel. Scripture makes this clear. Israel is Israel.
I wrote a long post with lots of scripture references, but I know you probably don't have time for that. So here are relateable, short and definitive proofs that today's Israel is still the Israel of the Bible:
A. Israel and Jerusalem are in the book of Revelation, in prophecies that have not yet come to pass. So Israel today must be the Israel of the Bible.
B. Try telling the Jews of the 1930s and 40s they're not the Jews of the Bible. Persecution come BECAUSE they are the chosen people.
C. This verse has proven true many times in modern history, as well as ancient times:
And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who
curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the
earth will be blessed.” - Genesis 12:3
The book Eye to Eye: Facing the Conesquences of Dividing Israel by William
Koenig, details modern-day tragedies resulting from meddling in what God
decreed over Israel.
God never wavers, never changes. If He doesn't tell us to stop supporting Israel, then we'd best continue supporting it.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that
love thee. - Psalm 122:6 KJV
Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people
Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our
fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey. - Deuteronomy 26:15
“I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby
nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah.
On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will
gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves.”
-Zechariah 12:2-3
