Be Positive Blog

I don't know what blood type Jesus is, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's Positive!

  • You are positively covered by Jesus' Blood - cleansed, protected, righteous.

  • You can be positive you're standing in God's Will for your life.
  • Be positive about what you believe - certain, unwavering and able to back it up with multiple scriptural proofs.

  • Trusting God assures you can keep a positive outlook regardless of circumstances.

Not Just an Assassination

Charlie Kirk never spoke at an event or campus without including a pitch for Jesus. His faith was always on his lips...the reason for his hope. We didn't always see clips online of those parts of what he had to say, but he witnessed every chance he got. Even on his recent engagement in Japan, a Shinto nation, he told leaders that they needed something transcendent, and as for himself, that was Jesus.

I believe in angelic protection, because I've experienced it more than once. I believe in divine healing, having experienced and ministered it. I know multiple people who've been raised from the dead or have caused that to happen. I believe in supernatural results from the prayer of the righteous, because I see it happening often.

So, "Why, Lord? Where were Charlie's guardian angels? Where was the protection of Psalm 91? Where was the prayer covering I know he must have had? I know that more will spring up to take his place, but wouldn't it be even better for him to be raised, and tell of Your greatness? Why aren't those who can, knocking on Erika's door, offering to raise him? It would have been so easy, Lord--why didn't you save him!?"

Strangely, it took 30 hours for me to remember what I've often said to others. Here is what I remembered that gave me peace. Perhaps it will help you, too.

As Christians, we are redeemed from the curse. So even though you may have been taught differently,

we are not called to sickness--He doesn't make us ill, He healed us by His stripes;

we are not called to premature death--the enemy comes to kill, but He gave us life and that more abundant;

we are not called to depression, fear, anxiety or worry--we're given soundness of mind and His peace;

we are not called to poverty--we are to have sufficiency unto every good work.

So many associate these things with God, but HE is good. There is only one difficulty w are CALLED to:

We are called to persecution for His name's sake.

To say that Charlie Kirk was assassinated, implying political motivation, may be true, but it is incomplete. Though we may be in a political war, that is simply what we see on the surface of the spiritual war that is raging over our culture, our national roots, our children--it's always about the children. It is a spiritual war, a war between morality and immorality, good and evil. Charlie fought that war with God's Truth, even when he wasn't speaking expressly about Christianity. Charlie Kirk was not assassinated. He was martyred.

The first New Testament martyr, Stephen, was also in his 30's, and was also murdered because of his eloquence--his convincing speech. Stephen was too effective for the evil ones to tolerate, the same as Charlie. Some celebrated Stephen's death, same as Charlie's. Stephen's last words were, "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge" forgiving the very ones stoning him. Based on how Charlie loved and lived, his last words would have echoed Stephen's had he been able to speak. He often told kids who thought they had the moral high ground and could therefore win a debate with him, "It's because I love you that I'm telling you the truth."

Note that everything you just read about Stephen, and Charlie, was first true about Jesus.

And here's the thing about martyrdom: it doesn't end in death. Martyrdom is caused by persecution, and has purpose. It ends in multiplication. It plants seeds that, through death, yield a large harvest. The enemy ALWAYS overplays his hand, and he made a huge miscalculation in taking out Charlie Kirk. Just as Stephen 's death resulted in Paul's Damascus road experience and the explosion of the church, so will Charlie Kirk's death bring the activation of the masses. A thousand Charlie Kirks were just unleashed.
